What Therefore God has Joined Together Let Not Man Separate

John Piper spoke in this sermon to something that I could not agree more with. "The ultimate meaning of marriage is the representation of the covenant keeping love between Christ and the church" (Please note you and I are part of the church) I personally have been divorced and know the pain of it. Now I have started over and I am working toward the goal of showing the woman I love the truth of this statement. Eph 5:25-26 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Will you make a stand for the cause of your marriage?

The Purpose of Marriage

Just why did God create marriage? I am sure there are many reasons. But One of the greatest reasons is conforming you and I to the image of Christ. How easy are you to love by Christ? Do you test His patients? I do. I find with Paul Washer the woman that I personally love with all my heart causes me great trouble. So that I might grow in the image of Christ.

marriage God's showcase of covenant keeping

Marriage is a deep passion of mine after I lost one. I know that my actions grieved the Lord greatly because of my foolishness. Making the choices I did brought me to a very dark place.
If a person looks deeply into who God is you will find God is about relationships. Truly Gods character is about keeping covenants. Join in with John Piper of http://www.desiringgod.org

Marriage is NOT about staying in Love

One of my personal favorite songs is by Prayer Chain.
Part of the song says "...The sign it reminds me of her eyes addicting and annoying shes my fear as she draws near ...Stay Away.... Its harder for me to walk away than it is to stay...Stay Away Hopefully you don't feel the same!"

Sometimes its so easy to walk away from our spouse because he/she lost that lovin feeling. As they say in a very famous song. Godly relationships need to be more than that. This blog I pray teaches some dynamic of marriage to help make it a little easier to stay than it is to walk away.
